EcoTank Canada Strengthens Unattended Fleet Uptime With NuvoLinQ Connectivity

When a self-serve unit goes offline in the field, the fallout rarely stays technical. A dropped connection can interrupt payment processing, cut off remote visibility into how the device is performing, and send a field team out to troubleshoot a site without knowing what’s actually happening there.

That was the operating reality for EcoTank Canada before it moved its connectivity to NuvoLinQ. The Orangeville, Ontario-based company makes self-serve windshield washer fluid dispensers for fuel stations, convenience stores, and automotive service locations, replacing single-use plastic jugs with a refill-on-demand model that cuts down on landfill waste while giving drivers a faster option at the pump.

A fleet held back by unreliable connections

Running a fleet of unattended, remotely monitored units meant EcoTank depended entirely on its cellular connections staying up. Its previous carrier setup made that difficult:

  • SIMs would lose connection and installation data without warning, creating troubleshooting that could have been avoided
  • Activation wasn’t always immediate, which slowed new installs
  • Limited visibility tools meant field teams often couldn’t tell what was happening at a site until they arrived

Those gaps affected both point-of-sale uptime and remote tank monitoring, making reliable operations harder to maintain as the fleet grew.

Multi-carrier connectivity with real-time SIM control

EcoTank moved its fleet onto NuvoLinQ’s multi-carrier connectivity, which draws on both Rogers and Bell networks to connect to the strongest signal available at each site, paired with the LinQView SIM management platform. The shift gave the company a more consistent connection across its unattended units, faster installs and on-site service, and real-time visibility into SIM status from a single dashboard.

“Our POS downtime has dropped significantly thanks to the stronger, more consistent network connection. LinQView is very easy to navigate, and being able to monitor SIMs in real time has made field management more efficient.”

EcoTank Canada

For businesses running kiosks, unattended retail, or distributed payment fleets, EcoTank’s experience is a reminder that connectivity isn’t a background utility sitting underneath the operation. It’s part of the operating model itself. When it fails, it doesn’t just take down a device, it takes down the business process running on top of it.
